Preventative Checkups and Cleans
at Just White Dental
When you brush and floss your teeth at home and avoid sugary beverages or sweets, you’re already making strides towards protecting your future oral health. Coming in for preventative visits at Just White Dental is also essential to maintain a healthy smile for years.
Our experienced, gentle team provides you with checkups and cleans that will keep your teeth bright and gleaming.
A Thorough Evaluation
We recommend that you have a checkup and clean every six months to keep your smile in great shape. When you arrive for your appointment, our friendly staff will greet you and make you feel at home.
A checkup and clean at our practice is a comprehensive process that includes:
- An examination of your teeth and gums
- Hygiene advice
- Radiographs (as needed)
- Scale and polish
- Treatment planning
Healthy Home Care Habits
Much of your oral health is in your control. In addition to biyearly appointments with us, you can maintain your teeth and gums in between visits with proper hygiene habits. When you take your oral health into your own hands, you prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar while reducing your risk of gum disease.
- Brush twice per day. You can reduce the amount of bacteria in your mouth by brushing two times each day, always using a toothbrush that has soft bristles. Remember to concentrate brushing along the gum line. You should spend at least two minutes brushing and can even set a timer if necessary.
- Floss daily. Dental floss, floss picks or a water flosser all work well in cleaning the spaces between your teeth that can’t be reached with a toothbrush.
- Clean your tongue. You can easily clean your tongue when you brush your teeth. Bacteria or food particles that cause bad breath can easily be reduced with a thorough brushing.
