Traditional Braces at Just White Dental
A properly aligned bite can reduce the risk of complications such as TMJ disorder (TMD), migraine headaches, tooth decay and gum disease. Investing in orthodontic treatment may also benefit emotional or physical needs such as those related to speech problems, difficulty eating or aesthetic irregularities.
Our family dentists provide comprehensive traditional braces in one convenient location, making it simple for everyone in your household to enjoy comfortable, quality care with a team you know and trust.
Orthodontic Evaluations for Children
By age 5 or 6, most children have started to lose a few teeth. By the time a child is 7, our family dentists can have a general idea as to how their adult smile will develop in the future. Orthodontic experts recommend that all children receive an evaluation by 7 years of age so that early intervention or growth modification can be incorporated and we can limit the extent of more complex treatment with braces.
Some of the bite issues that can be corrected with traditional braces include
- Open bites
- Overbite/overjet
- Underbite/underjet
- Teeth that are crooked, crowded or gapped
- Unerupted teeth
Can Adults Wear Traditional Braces?
Yes. Some of our adult patients prefer traditional orthodontic treatment because of the ability to correct severe misalignment in a predictable (and affordable) manner. You’re never too old to enjoy a straighter or healthier smile.
In some cases, traditional braces can also come in tooth-coloured ceramic brackets, which blend in more with the overall appearance of your smile. Although still visible, these types of orthodontic appliances are quite popular with adult patients.
